BREAKING: UAW Endorses John Gregg for Indiana Governor
FRENCH LICK, IND. – Saying he’s the best person for the job; today the UAW officially endorsed John Gregg for Indiana Governor.
“Indiana faces many challenges in the years ahead, and we are confident that John Gregg has the leadership skills, the experience and the vision to lead Indiana forward,” said Ken Lortz, UAW Region 2B Director. “He will fight for jobs that pay a living wage, to keep workers safe on the job and to ensure that all Hoosiers have rights and respect on the job.
“Our Indiana members are proud Hoosiers, they care about their neighbors, their communities and their schools. They work each and every day to make Indiana better and for 30 years so has John Gregg,” added Lortz. “Unlike Mike Pence who fought to shut down the auto industry in Indiana and kill thousands of Hoosier jobs while he was in Congress, John Gregg has a record of putting people ahead of politics and ideology. He will make a great governor and the UAW is proud to offer our support.”
The International Union, United Automobile, Aerospace and Agricultural Implement Workers of America (UAW) is one of the largest and most diverse unions in North America, with members in virtually every sector of the economy. It represents workplaces ranging from multinational corporations, small manufacturers and state and local governments to colleges and universities, hospitals and private non-profit organizations.
The UAW has more than 400,000 active members and more than 600,000 retired members in the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico including 80,000 active and retired members in Indiana.
