FWACC Seeking Information After Puppy Found in Garbage

FORT WAYNE, IN – Fort Wayne Animal Care & Control is asking for the public’s help on a case after a four month old puppy was found in a trash bin.

Fort Wayne Animal Care & Control was notified on March 20 after a garbage truck driver found the puppy in a crate inside a trash bin in the 200 block of East Masterson Avenue. After an exam by a veterinarian it was determined the puppy has suffered multiple traumas in its short life and as a result is now blind.

Our officers immediately launched a full investigation to find the person or people responsible. Officers have canvassed the area the puppy was found and are asking the public to call our department at 427-1244 or 449-3000 after 8 p.m. and on weekends with any information about this case.

The puppy has been recovering in a home through our foster program in is now available for adoption.
