2019 Colts Draft Picks Rock Ya-Sin, Parris Campbell Sign Contracts

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Colts today signed cornerback Rock Ya-Sin and wide receiver Parris Campbell.

The Colts have now signed nine of their 10 draft picks from the 2019 NFL Draft.

Ya-Sin, 6-0, 190 pounds, was selected by the Colts in the second round (34th overall) of the 2019 NFL Draft. In 2018, he appeared in 12 games at Temple and finished with 47 tackles (36 solo), 2.0 tackles for loss and 12 passes defensed. Ya-Sin’s 12 passes defensed ranked third in the conference and 14th in the nation. He earned First Team American Athletic Conference honors and garnered First Team Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference recognition. Prior to Temple, Ya-Sin played three seasons (2015-17) at Presbyterian College. In 2017, he started all 11 games and was a First Team All-Big South choice after recording a school-record five interceptions in addition to 49 tackles and two fumble recoveries. Ya-Sin started all 11 games in 2016 and registered 31 tackles, 2.0 tackles for loss, one fumble recovery, one defensive touchdown and a team-high nine passes defensed. As a freshman in 2015, he played in all 11 games (two starts) and tallied 15 tackles and two passes defensed.

Campbell, 6-0, 208 pounds, was selected by Indianapolis in the second round (59th overall) of the 2019 NFL Draft. He played in 48 games (38 starts) at Ohio State and finished with 143 receptions for 1,768 yards and 15 touchdowns. Campbell’s career receptions and receiving yards rank seventh and 15th, respectively, in school history. He was a First Team All-Big Ten Conference selection in 2018 after playing in 14 games and totaling an Ohio State single-season record 90 receptions for 1,063 yards and 12 touchdowns. Campbell became the fifth Buckeye to top 1,000 receiving yards in a season. He was a Third Team All-Big Ten selection by the league’s coaches in 2017 after appearing in 13 games and finishing with 40 receptions for 584 yards and three touchdowns. Campbell also tallied 10 rushes for 132 yards and one touchdown. Additionally, he was a Second Team All-Big Ten choice by the media as a return specialist after totaling nine kickoff returns for 329 yards. In 2016, Campbell played in 13 games and compiled 13 receptions for 121 yards. He also had four rushes for 54 yards and one touchdown. Campbell was named a Third Team All-Big Ten choice as a return specialist by the league’s coaches after recording 21 kickoff returns for 584 yards. He appeared in eight games in 2015 and had seven tackles on special teams. In 2014, Campbell redshirted as a true freshman.
