This is Chairman John Zody, bringing you the weekly podcast for the Indiana Democratic Party.

I’m looking forward to our 2019 Hoosier Hospitality Dinner on June 7^th in downtown Indianapolis. We have invited U.S. Senator Jeff Merkley from Oregon to be our keynote speaker for the evening. Sen. Merkley will share the stage with a host of elected officials and some of our 2019 candidates.

Jeff Merkley has been a champion for working families in all his years of public service. He has stood up against the injustices happening around our nation and fought for protecting access to affordable health care for all. He is a leader in addressing climate chaos and has worked to improve the quality of life for all Americans no matter where they come from.

His upbringing in a blue-collar neighborhood, one he raised his own family in, has shaped his beliefs in the dignity of work and how workers should be able to have a good paying job and, when the time comes, retire with dignity and security. We’re excited to welcome Senator Merkley to our state. 

Each year, our dinner shows how important it is for Democrats to come together and work on how to move our cities, state, and nation forward. Its why the energy and momentum we had 2018 will be carried on through this election year as well.
