Lanane responds to lawsuit against governor, DCS
INDIANAPOLIS– Senate Democratic Leader Tim Lanane (D-Anderson) released the following comments in response to children within the Indiana Department of Child Services (DCS) filing a lawsuit against Governor Eric Holcomb, the DCS and its director Terri Stigdon.
“The Senate Democratic Caucus has fought for years to make our most vulnerable children in the Department of Child Services a priority in this state. It comes as no surprise that the children are now forced to take action on their own to force the adults in this state to do right by them due to the obstacles we have faced in these same efforts. The conditions and experiences these kids have faced are disheartening, disappointing and just plain wrong. This might just be the wake-up call Republican leadership needed to assure we make major changes for the protection of our state’s children.”
