This is the Indiana Democratic Party podcast for the last week of February 2020.

As the 2020 session of the Indiana General Assembly comes to a close in the coming weeks, we must be sure to hold our counterparts across the aisle accountable. Unfortunately, no oversight from the GOP seems to be no problem for them at the Indiana Statehouse.

From the virtual charter schools scandal you’ve been hearing about, where Hoosiers were defrauded of tens of millions of dollars because of a lack of accountability and oversight by the legislative supermajorities to this week, when – along party lines – Republicans voted down Democratic amendments to protect our elections…it is clear we need more Democrats in the Indiana Statehouse – and that’s just what we’re working to do.

Since the filing deadline closed earlier this month, there are Democrats running all over the state to make it better – whether it is for the General Assembly, for County Commissioner or Council – to Congress, Attorney General and Governor. They are running because they know that good things happen when the right people are in office.

Would you like to help make that difference? Sign up at indems.org/join and we’ll get you plugged in to help a candidate running for office this year. Whether it’s knocking doors, making phone calls or helping do something else – every single effort will matter this year as we work to break the legislative supermajority and elect Democrats up and down the ballot

Only together can we work to move our state forward and hold our counterparts in Washington and at the Statehouse accountable.

Thank you for listening.
