Indiana Democrats believe everyone in our state deserves a livable wage, that they should be treated equally under the law. We believe in a fully funded and strong public education system and that each and every Hoosiers deserves quality healthcare.

TRANSCRIPT:

This is Chairman John Zody, bringing you the weekly message for the Indiana Democratic Party.

As we celebrate Thanksgiving this weekend, there is much to be thankful for as Indiana Democrats. We are blessed to have a strong, active party here in Indiana that, because of our volunteers, activists and elected officials, advocates for critical issues on behalf of Hoosiers.

Indiana Democrats believe everyone in our state deserves a livable wage, that they should be treated equally under the law. We believe in a fully funded and strong public education system and that each and every Hoosiers deserves quality healthcare.

We advocate for these things because we know that not every Hoosier is able to be thankful for these things – because the disparities in our state in these areas remain. Not every Hoosier has the same shot at equity, and unfortunately our leadership at the Indiana Statehouse doesn’t focus enough the right priorities.

That’s why we have to keep fighting. As your Chair, I am thankful that whatever the situation, Indiana Democrats keep pushing ahead despite challenges and setbacks. It is up to us to keep up this fight and do our very best to correct our state’s course on these critical areas. We have no other choice – we have to keep fighting so that others have the ability to thrive in our state.
